H Moncino State A-AAAAA Diving Champion, Girls 6th in State.

The Pace AquaKnights had a record-setting weekend at the Georgia High School State Championships, and once again dominated Class A one last time before preparing to move up to Class AA next year. . Pace Girls finished 6th , Boys 22nd in a field of 44 schools.

On the diving board, Junior Harrison Moncino successfully defended his state championship winning with a score of 573.65. He ran away with the title as his closest competitor scored 480.70, almost 90 points behind. Harrison got all 9’s on his first dive and the rest

was history. He ripped the hardest dive of the

competition, an inward 2 ½ somersault and brought the

house down. Moncino has set all

the records at Pace and is undefeated in high school except for a second place finish in the 2012 State Championship loosing buy only 25 points to a Westminster Senior. Brother , Sophomore

Owen Moncino finished in 5th place with his stongest meet ever with a score of 413.20. ( 50 points higher than last year’s 6th place finish) His front 2 ½ somersault

received 7 and 8’s from the judges. All this while also playing Varsitiy Lacrosse as goalie. Harrison is a 2 time All American. Both boys State competition will be submitted for 2014 All American consideration.

The Pace Girls finished 6th in the State among all A-AAAAA teams, better than all other teams in Class A and Class AA. This is the 2nd consecutive year that the Pace Girls have beaten all other Class A and Class AA competition in the State Championship. The Pace Boys finished 22nd in the State with another great performance, after a great one last year too.
